.... assuming you've got OS3.5 or 3.9.
It's strange that the first thing you get is a ghosted icon though. Which
file system are you using? If it's crossdos, consider switching to fat95 -
available on aminet.
The def_PC0 thing needs to go in ENVARC:sys/.... though to make it
permenant.
